Delegation Visits
Want to bring something to Council's attention? You can request time to speak at a regular Council meeting by filling out a delegation request form.
How to attend as a delegation
Fill out a Delegation Request Form and send it to the Administrator at rm5@rmestevan.ca or drop it of in person.
On the form you'll tell us:
- Who you are
- How to reach you
- What you want to talk about
- What you're asking Council to do.
You request must reach the Administrator at least 3 business days before the meeting, by 4:00 p.m., requests must include:
- A completed delegation request form (download at right or pick one up at the RM office).
- any materials you would like to present.
Council usually meets on Wednesdays. That means most requests need to be in by 4:00 p.m. the Thursday of the week before. When in doubt, get it in early.
How your time works
- Each delegation gets 15 minutes total — 10 minutes to present, then 5 minutes for questions from Council.
- Pick one person to speak on behalf of your group.
- Please stick to the topic you wrote on your form. The Chair may stop a presentation that goes off-topic.
A few things to know
- Speak through the Chair, and please keep it respectful. Personal questions or personal attacks won't be allowed.
- If Council has already dealt with your topic through an earlier delegation, it usually won't be heard again.
- Council can limit how many delegations appear at a single meeting, so submitting early helps.
Public record notice
The RM collects this information to help Council make informed decisions. Please be aware that your name and anything you submit may become part of the public record.
