Notice of Bylaw Amendment: Official Community Plan

Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Rural Municipality of Estevan No. 5, intends to adopt a bylaw under The Planning and Development Act, 2007 to amend Bylaw No. 4-2014 known as the Official Community Plan.

Intent: The proposed bylaw will update the policies regarding Natural Hazard Lands: Flood and Slope Instability.

Reason: The reason for the bylaw amendment is to ensure consistency between; the policies respecting Natural Hazard Lands: Flood and Slope Instability, the regulations in the Zoning Bylaw for developing in Flood Prone Areas and changes made to the Statements of Provincial Interest.

Public Inspection: Any person may inspect the proposed bylaw at the R.M. of Estevan Municipal Office at 102 Supreme Street, Estevan, Saskatchewan between 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Copies are available at cost.

Public Hearing: Council will hold a public hearing to receive any written or verbal submissions on the proposed bylaw amendment at 11:00 AM (local time) on Thursday, November 12, 2026 in the Council Chambers of the RM of Estevan No. 5 at 102 Supreme Street, Estevan, Saskatchewan. Written submissions will be presented to Council and can be delivered to the RM office, or emailed to rm5@rmestevan.ca
