Position Objectives:

The Rural Municipality of Estevan No. 5 is seeking an experienced and motivated Grader/Equipment Operator to join our Public Works team at our new location.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Public Works, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of municipal roads. This is a full-time, year-round position with a variety of responsibilities throughout the seasons.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operate and maintain municipal heavy equipment and vehicles.
  • Perform road grading, maintenance, and repair during the summer months.
  • Perform snow and ice removal and winter road maintenance.
  • Assist with general Public Works activities and projects as required.
  • Complete other duties and tasks as assigned by the Manager of Public Works.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with municipal policies and procedures.

Desirable Training and Experience:

Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience and skills in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, including:

  • Motor grader
  • Loader
  • Tandem gravel truck
  • Tractor/mower
  • Skid-steer
  • Other related heavy equipment

A minimum Class 5 driver's licence is required. A Class 1A driver's licence would be considered a definite asset.

The successful candidate must be able to perform the duties of the position safely and effectively and demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety.
